Amanda Bynes Clarifies Those Infamous Comments About Drake: 'I Was Serious But I Was Also on Drugs'
"I actually wasn't being insincere," she said in her first interview in nearly four years
In a new interview, Bynes, 31, addressed the infamous dirty tweet she sent rapper Drake in 2013, in which she stated, “I want @drake to murder my vagina.”
“I actually wasn’t being insincere,” she told Hollyscoop’s Diana Madison. “I was like saying, ‘Murder my vagina.’ I was serious, but I was also on drugs.
And while Bynes admits those might not have been the best words to use, she still feels strongly about what they imply.
“That was my way of saying, ‘Let’s do it, man,’ ” she said. “He’s hot! What does that even mean? It just means, like, ‘F— me, Drake!’ ”
And this wasn’t the only tweet Bynes directed at her celebrity crush at the time. Three months after posting the initial tweet, the actress labeled the rapper “ugly” but later apologized and called him the “man of her dreams.” In her last tweet posted in July 2013, she wrote, “Drake is gorgeous.”
Bynes interview marks the first time the once-troubled actress has spoken out publicly in nearly four years. During the sit-down chat, she opened up about her health and future plans to revisit the industry that made her a star.
Revealing that she’s now three years sober, Bynes said, “I hike, I go spinning — take spinning classes — and I feed the homeless.”
She also expressed a desire to return to her acting roots.
“I want to do TV, maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show that I’m the star of it,” she shared.
