Barton Brooks is treating his mother, Carla, to the adventure of a lifetime — and for the most amazing reason!

For over 20 years, Carla looked after her husband, Karl, who suffered a stroke and needed a full time caregiver. When he died last year, she was “absolutely heartbroken,” says Barton. So, with his partner Gregg, Barton decided to treat her to the ultimate European getaway. The traveling threesome will visit 20 special places, one for each year Carla cared for Karl.

During this week’s Prague adventure, the group ran into some fans on the famous Charles Bridge. “Bill and Keith stopped us because they had seen one of the videos on PEOPLE!” says Barton. Carla posed for pictures with the devotees on the bridge before heading to St. Vitus cathedral and a Christmas market (by way of a gorgeous vintage red car!). “It’s gorgeous!” Carla says of Prague.

Barton, Carla and Gregg are headed to Munich next, and they’d love some tips on local musts — please leave them suggestions in the comments below (they can’t wait to hear from you!). We’ll post a new episode of “Carla’s Comeback” every Wednesday, so be sure to follow all 20 of their adventures here!
