And the father of the year award goes to…
Thanh Tran took “daddy duty” to a new level on Monday when he participated in his 8-year-old step-daughter’s dance class — in a black tutu!
“I knew it would bring a lot of joy to my daughter,” Tran tells PEOPLE of his little girl, Adriana Cross. “Seeing her big smile when I walked in was all worth it.”
Tran’s wife, Rebecca, is seven months pregnant and decided to sit the class out. Still, she was front and center at the class to see Tran’s memorable performance.
“He stepped up to fill in for me. It was mostly moms participating,” she says. “I loved it! I thought it was very sweet and funny too.”
Along with photos, Tran shared video footage of the class on social media. In the clip, Tran is shown wearing a black top with a matching tutu and sweatpants. He completes some impressive moves on the barre with a smile — although he says his “dancing needed work.”

“It was pretty tough,” he says of the class. “But we had fun and we all had a good laugh on my expense.”
As the photos and video of the class made its way around the internet, Rebecca was sure to let the public know that Tran is always a thoughtful father.
“Let me just say it’s sooooo much more than a man putting on a tutu,” Rebecca wrote in a Facebook post.

“He’s been in her life since she was 4 years old and she’s never been a step-daughter to him. Seeing them together is what made me realize he was the man I was going to marry.”
She added: “He has never missed a parent-daughter moment in 4 years. Every field trip, every school activity, every practice, he’s been there. Adriana can count on him.”
