A 14-year-old high school student ended his life after being bullied by older students, according to The Dallas News.

The body of Raymond Howell Jr. was found early Thursday near a culvert in McKinney, Texas.

Students and people close to Howell’s family said the teen had been bullied to the point that he had wanted to transfer to another school, CBS DFW reports.

“There were people who didn’t like him, but it’s life – there’s always someone that won’t like you,’ his friend Aleena Rogers told The Dallas News. “But those were very few and far between for him. He was loved by most everyone.”

The tragic news spread fast throughout his high school.

“It is with great sadness that we were informed this morning of the death of a McKinney Boyd High School student,” district spokesman Cody Cunningham told the newspaper. “McKinney ISD will be providing additional counselors and support for staff or students in need of grief counseling.”
