Dubai is better after hours, at least according to the Travel Channel’s Josh Gates.

Gates is getting a late-night tour of United Arab Emirates city on the special series Josh Gates: After Dark, and the hotel suite he stops at includes amenities that are literally made of gold.

“This is the Royal Bridge Suite at The Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai,” he says while taking the grand tour. “Even the soap in this place is made out of 14K gold bling.”

The suite’s price tag is not for the faint of heart (or a modest bank account): “More than 3,000 square feet of opulence and it can be yours for the low, low price of 30,000 US dollars a night,” Gates says.

As far as who frequents the suite: “I’m told Kim Kardashian stays here when she’s in town,” Gates says of the star-studded guest list, which also includes the like of Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards, who visited the dazzling city on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “So I’m flattered to be in the celebrity suite.”

And while the suite’s endless rooms — which include three master bedrooms with a maximum occupancy of six adults and three children, according to the website — are impressive, it’s nothing compared to the island it’s nestled on.

“The entire island is artificial,” he says. “In fact it is the largest artificial island on the planet. It’s known as the Palm Jumeirah and when seen from above it is actually the shape of an enormous palm tree.”

Josh Gates: After Dark premieres Wednesday, March 1st at 11:00 p.m. EST on Travel Channel.
