Compound David Blank Photo Tobey Maguire has sold his offbeat Santa Monica, California, home for $3.325 million, $330,000 above the asking price. The actor listed the property with Scott King of Compass just two weeks after news broke that he would be splitting from his wife of nine years, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer. 02 of 07 A Serial Flipper David Blank Photo Maguire purchased the home only a year ago for $2.675 million and was asking $2.995 million for the three-bedroom three-bath residence. This is not the actor's first foray into house flipping: He and Meyer sold their Brentwood estate for $10.25 million in 2014, less than a year after buying it. 03 of 07 Street View David Blank Photo The property includes multiple structures in a unique mash-up of architectural styles. The original 1920s bungalow faces the street, while a two-story, modern-meets-Spanish-style volume rises behind it. The collection of spaces add up to 2,400 square feet. 04 of 07 Moving On Up David Blank Photo Maguire worked with architect Ruben Ojeda to renovate the home, according to Trulia. The ceilings throughout were raised to create soaring, light-filled spaces, or in the case of this bedroom, a unique wood-lined barrel vault. 05 of 07 Mini Kitchen David Blank Photo The kitchen is unusually modest for a recently updated (not to mention movie-star-owned) home. The warm-toned wood cabinetry reads especially mid-century in style when paired with a bright green floor. 06 of 07 California Living David Blank Photo The second-story addition features a modern outdoor living space made of concrete and a wood-trellis roof. 07 of 07 A Surprise Out Back David Blank Photo A separate, 1,200-square-foot, two-story structure at the rear of the property currently serves as a hang-out space, including a ping-pong table and upstairs lounge. A third outbuilding on the lot houses a gym.
