These DIY Ornaments Are the Secret to Stress-Free Holiday Decorating
Spruce up your holiday decor with these easy ideas that won't hurt your wallet
Tis the season for twinkle lights, tinsel and statement trees!
The holidays are finally upon us, which means it’s time to drag out those decorations and make your house feel merry and bright. But if you’re in the early stages of your ornament collection, or simply want a new look for your evergreen centerpiece, adding new baubles can be quite the pricey feat.
Instead of borrowing cash from your present fund, try one of these simple yet stunning DIY ideas from Martha Stewart Living. Not only can they spruce up your Spruce, these pretty projects can also make super special (and inexpensive) gifts for loved ones.
1. Agate Pendants
While they lend an extra-fancy feel, these agate stunners couldn’t be easier to craft. First, pick up a few of these agate charms. Next, use pliers to snip off the extra ring at the top of the rock, and thread gold cord through the remaining loop. Tie a knot at the end and celebrate with a sip of eggnog.
2. Marbled Marvels
For these works of art, remove the tops of ball-shaped glass ornaments and fill them with one or two colors of craft paint and a marbling medium. Swirl the colors around and enjoy! If you’re after a glitzy finish, brush glue on the bottom and roll in the glitter of your choice.
3. Icicle Ornaments
These cool beauties come together with quartz beads, jewelry wire and metallic cord. String the beads onto the wire, and then use a plier to create two loops at each end. Thread metallic cord through the top loop and hang from the branches with care.
Whether you opt to display your designs in your own home or share them as hostess gifts, these easy décor ideas are sure to make your holiday extra jolly.
