"I just wanted to live out a fantasy," Tamar Braxton tells PEOPLE
Tamar Braxton is always ready to pop some bubbly!
In fact, the reality star and singer, 39, has an entire room in her 8-bedroom, 11-bathroom Calabasas, Calif., estate. dedicated just to champagne.
“Champagne is every girl’s dream,” Braxton tells PEOPLE. “I just wanted to live out a fantasy. How many times do you get the chance to build a champagne bar?”
The dark wood bar — with sexy animal-print bar stools — also includes a lounge area with a couch and a TV, and was inspired by The Dorchester hotel in London.
“What I loved about their bar is it felt like a living room, so I wanted to turn my bar into a living room slash bar, where it’s comfortable,” explains Braxton, who says her champagne bar was her “ultimate favorite” room to decorate. “It gives me that same old tavern, homey, comfy feel. But it feels expensive.”
The finishing touch on Braxton’s dream room was a “Champagne” sign she found at HomeGoods for $99.
“It was just the icing on the cake,” she says. “When I was shopping, I just looked for whatever fits. It’s not about the price, it’s not about where you get it, it’s just about what works for you.”
While her husband Vince, 44, was skeptical about having a champagne bar in their home, Braxton says he spends a lot of time there now.
“It’s his favorite room to go into,” she says. “He watches all of his games on that television. It’s just so inviting.”
And Braxton admits even she didn’t think she would actually use the room as much as she does.
“I thought it was just [going to be] for show,” she says. “But I think because we use our home so much, nothing is off limits.”
