The Hotel Where Serena Williams Hosted Her Wellness-Themed Bridal Shower Will Have You Feeling Instantly Relaxed
Serena Williams' Relaxing Bridal Shower Retreat
Serena Williams’ bridal shower, celebrating her upcoming nuptials with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, was nothing short of stunning, thanks in part to its setting, the super chic 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach. Dubbed the "Wellness Hotel," the Miami hotspot boasts plenty of new healthy living amenities that the tennis champ and her guests, including sister, Venus, and mom, Oracene, took full advantage of, sending the mom-to-be home with a glow that will surely last until her wedding.
British lifestyle and wellness brand, Bamford, opened its first-ever Haybarn Spa at the hotel. The sustainable spa offers guests tailored treatments like the Himalayan Salt Stone massage or an After Sun Recovery body wrap. After indulging in a luxurious treatment, guests can head to James Beard award-nominated Chef Matthew Kenney’s vegan restaurant, PInthouse, for wraps, salads, smoothies and healthy bowls.
It doesn’t get more relaxing than the air-conditioned poolside cabana where Williams and her guests were treated to foot massages by Bamford Haybarn Spa.
Hit the Gym
Not everyone can be a tennis champ like Williams, but hotel guests can train like an athlete at the hotel's Spartan Gym. The studio features ropes, obstacles and access to Spartan trainers for private sessions and classes (even for kids!).
The rooftop pool deck offers plenty of places to kick back and relax. Williams made use of the serene space with a “Mind & Movement” yoga and meditation class. Though the hotel actually has four pools, this one is 18 floors up and offers a bird's eye view of Miami's skyline. A members-only beach club will also be available to VIP guests this summer.
The ultimate sister squad, Serena and Venus grin ear-to-ear at a celebratory brunch on one of the hotel's terraces.
Room with a View
Almost as impressive as her gaggle of gifts are the oceanviews from Williams’ ultra-luxe "Retreat Collection" suite, which is perfect for a long-term stay (it fit Williams' group of 20 with plenty of room to spare).
The suite comes with a personal guru, assigned to take care of its occupants’ well-being.
The Grand Slam champ could also make use of the room’s full kitchen, which flows seamlessly into the modern living space. The overall decor scheme of the suite is calming and its design inspiration drawn from nature.
