Drew Scott and fiancé Linda Phan are putting down roots!

The Property Brothers star announced today during a Facebook Live with HGTV that he and Phan have recently added to their real estate portfolio — and their new pad’s location is notably not in his and twin brother Jonathan’s current shared city of Las Vegas.

“My fiancée and I just bought a house in L.A.,” he says, responding to a viewer’s question of what city offers the best home value. “It’s literally like ten times the price to go from Vegas to L.A.”

The twins’ older sibling, J.D., and the mother-daughter duo Karen and Mina Starsiak of HGTV’s Good Bones also joined in on the fun, answering questions that ranged from their feelings on wallpaper to their dream cities (Charleston, South Carolina for Mina and “Anywhere on my 42-foot catamaran,” for Karen).

Most of the discussion was design-centric, much to the dismay of Jonathan, who called for “the most scandalous” queries fans could think of. A few discussions did get heated, though, including an ongoing Scott Brothers battle.

“I think we have an exclusive HGTV Facebook Live decision for Drew to make,” Jonathan says. “Which brother is going to be the best man?”

Drew told PEOPLE in December that he was planning to choose both Jonathan and J.D. as his best men for his wedding, and it looks like he’s sticking to his decision to stay neutral, although he does threaten to take away the title altogether.

“Linda’s brother is my best man,” he says, quickly adding that he’s kidding after seeing the crowd’s less than enthusiastic expressions. “Jonathan and J.D. think that I’m weird because I want them both as my best men.”

Jonathan blames it on Drew’s “commitment issues,” joking that it took him six years to propose to Phan, but Mina and Karen both agree the compromise seems fair. And leave it to Jonathan to see the silver lining.

“That does mean half the work,” Jonathan says.
