Everything you need to know about the HGTV star's coworker turned fiancé

Drew Scott is tying the knot!

PEOPLE exclusively announced the Property Brothers star’s engagement to longtime girlfriend Linda Phan, 31, last night at Piano Piano in Toronto. And it’s safe to say his plans for the elaborate surprise paid off. She said yes!

While Drew, 38, and his twin brother, Jonathan, are known for their mega-popular HGTV shows, Phan works behind the scenes as a bona fide businesswoman, philanthropist and crafter extraordinaire. Here, five things to know about Drew’s new fiancé.

1. She Works with Drew and Jonathan

Phan is the Creative Director of Scott Brothers Entertainment, overseeing their digital content, product and merchandise lines, and marketing campaigns, which luckily means she gets to travel with Drew to the brothers’ various shooting locations around the U.S. and Canada.

2. She’s a DIY Diva
Phan is known as the “MacGyver” of crafts among the Brothers crew, and has even starred alongside Drew in a series of crafting videos. Producing baking and DIY holiday videos together has even become a Christmas tradition for the couple.

3. She’s Almost As Much of a Jokester as Drew

While Drew and Jonathan are known for their on-set pranks, Phan isn’t shy about getting in on the action. Just last year the couple shared a fake engagement post on April Fool’s Day, and Phan often Instagrams photos teasing Drew and her soon-to-be brother-in-law.

4. She’s Passionate About Giving Back

Phan also heads up philanthropic efforts for the brothers, who recently volunteered their building expertise during the devastating floods in Louisiana, where they were filming Brothers Take New Orleans. She also coordinates their involvement with children’s organizations like St. Jude’s and St. Baldrick’s, according to the Scotts’ website.

5. She Loves Dr. Seuss

Phan is a huge fan of the children’s author. Seuss even inspired part of Drew’s proposal surprise: A custom cake decorated with the words “Oh, the places we’ll go,” as a spin on the classic Seuss book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go, was wheeled out during dinner, when he popped the question.
