The Property Brothers will be saying mele kalikimaka come Christmas Day!

HGTV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott usually spend their holidays at home in Las Vegas, but this year the 38-year-old twins are getting tropical.

“After a hard-working year we’ve decided to take our families to Hawaii to relax for ten days over the holiday,” Drew tells PEOPLE. “Our family, our girlfriends’ families and a couple of friends will be beachside showing Christmas cheer and ringing in the New Year.”

“There will be surfing and luaus, and lots of drinks in coconuts,” Jonathan adds.

For Jonathan, the getaway will be a welcome break for both him and girlfriend, Jacinta. “It is rare that we ever get this much time off together,” he says. “So we’ll be enjoying long sleep-ins, breakfast in bed, epic hikes through the mountains and just a ridiculous amount of ‘us’ time.”

It’s also an opportunity for Jonathan to spend some quality time with a few important new people in his life. “Jacinta’s family will be in Hawaii as well, so it’s really going to be special,” he says.

Although the “10 days of pure R&R,” as Jonathan calls them, are well deserved for the brothers, whose series Brothers Take New Orleans is currently airing on HGTV, the trip is more about being surrounded by loved ones than luxurious amenities.

“As cheesy as it sounds, the gift for us is being able to spend time together, and not what’s wrapped in a box,” Jonathan says.

“Time with family is always the best gift,” adds Drew.
