Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond Shares Progress Photos of New Hotel: ‘It’s All Gonna Be Fine’

Ree Drummond’s mantra for making it through her Oklahoma hotel’s renovations? “It’s all gonna be just fine.”

The star of Food Network’s Pioneer Woman announced in September that she was opening an inn with her husband, Ladd, in their hometown of Pawhuska. Now, she’s taken to Instagram to share a few integral updates on the project and show off her designs.

“Here are some progress pics of The Boarding House, our little 8-room inn-in-progress,” she writes of the property, which is down the street from the couple’s restaurant, bakery and general store, The Mercantile.

The cookbook author went into more detail on her website, explaining how each of the areas in the three-story building came together.

In the “Tack Room” — which Drummond insists is nothing like the one at her sprawling ranch that has “an old rock barn with a rusty door and the smell of horse poop” — pine paneling and a coffered ceiling get warmed up with a few coats of stain. A smiley Ladd also helps make the space feel more welcoming.

The bathroom in the “Butterfly Room,” sports a patterned tile that the reality star is “dying over.” The layout was inspired by a trip she took with her husband.

“Basically there’s a vanity when you first walk in, a shower behind it, and a sink on either side of the shower. You can access the shower from either side, and it’s a nice, balanced layout!” she writes. “Marlboro Man [Ladd] and I saw a bathroom like that in Las Vegas (of all places!) and we both thought it was so clever.”

A shot of the back of the building highlights the new metal roof that covers the first level, ensuring the grounds look “a little spiffier” from the outside.

She seems to have a handle on any renovation worries, but there is one spot that is sending her “need for order in logic” into disarray.

“Remember when I asked you about using the old ceiling tiles inside the coffered ceiling in The Drugstore Room?” she said. “After playing around with patterns, the guys (Marlboro Man, Kurtess (our general manager), and the contractors all thought it would be cool just to have random pieces of tile in no particular pattern at all. I will tell you that I am not sold on this.”

However she does admit that the idea is “a little exciting.” Plus, she says, “If a ceiling tile pattern is going to be the key to my daily contentment, I’ve got a screw loose!”

Although she has yet to announce an opening date for the inn, a shot of the logo suggests fans can expect to book a room in 2018.
