KATHY'S MEDITERRANEAN-STYLE MANSION
"I really wanted it to feel like one of the beautiful hotels I've stayed at," says comedian Kathy Griffin of her $10.5 million mansion. "It’s a very grand house," she adds. "But having big parties for 400 people isn’t my thing anymore. Now I’m not opposed to a taco or a pizza party."
THE FORMAL LIVING ROOM
The main living room is luxe with a few playful touches, like a Jonathan Adler Whippet sculpture on the mantle. "I make sure I sit there once every day, even if it's just for five minutes," she says. "Because I don't want to have the fancy couches that nobody really uses."
THE GLAM ROOM
Though Griffin does have an impressive walk-in wardrobe, she says she has an "all or nothing" approach to style and beauty. Her at-home uniform, she reveals, is "not-at-all-attractive old lady pajamas."
Every day, Griffin swims laps in her infinity pool, which overlooks scenic mountains, as part of her fitness routine to keep up her "bangin’ bikini bod."
THE HOME GYM
Griffin calls her workout room “surprisingly girlie”— she's even got pink weights! There is also a framed letter from Jerry Seinfeld on the wall. “He acted like he was mad about a joke I made [about him] but actually he wasn’t," she says. "Thank God!”
"I have my own office, which I love," Griffin says."There’s a beautiful picture of Joan Rivers and she looks over me and watches me with guidance."
The comedian has yet to fill her basement wine cellar: It can hold 1,000 bottles! Griffin jokes that her mom, Maggie, who is 96, stores her boxed wine down there. "She has her own room," says Griffin. "She can stay here whenever she likes."
THE MASTER BATH
"Kickass" is how Griffin describes her bathroom, complete with a marble tub and an unexpected cozy detail: a fireplace.
Griffin keeps her Grammy and Emmy awards in her minimalist-yet-luxe foyer. She's also got a guest book there that was a gift to her from Joan Rivers. "Whenever people don’t want to sign it I always show them Joan’s as the first signature," she says. "'That’s right, get your pen, Joan wants you to sign it, so sign it!'"
Since she's currently in the middle of a grueling 80-city stand-up tour, Griffin stresses the importance of having a bedroom that feels like a sanctuary.
THE BILLIARD ROOM
This "Man Cave" is one thing that the comedian never thought she would have. "You men have had enough in this world, you don’t need a cave," she says
