Odd Mom Out star Jill Kargman has one advantage over the other parents in the neighborhood: a pizza oven.
“We’re the most popular play date in town,” she tells PEOPLE.
Beyond the favorite food feature, the house that Kargman, 42, shares with her husband, Harry, and their three kids also has an Oscar de la Renta bed — “that was the one big furniture splurge” — quirky wall coverings and a collection of artwork that was 16 years in the making.
“We started buying stuff when we were scrounging in our fourth-floor walk-up and they were all in different corners of our various apartments,” Kargman says. “And now for the first time we have a real grown-up home. It’s really exciting.”
The four-bedroom townhouse, which inspired the set of her Bravo series, has a “Tim Burton-meets-John Derian” theme, with touches like black velvet wallpaper, whimsical alphabet prints and skulls.
“A lot of people say our stuff is a little bit morbid,” Kargman says. “I disagree. I think it’s very life affirming to have skulls— makes you be kind of carpe diem-y.”
Since moving in 2014 from a previously snug space, Kargman now likes to host everything from dinner parties to baby showers for her kids’ teachers.
“It feels like a happy house,” Kargman says. “We always fill it with people.”
And since it’s the first home she’s truly made her own, it’s safe to say Kargman feels pretty attached.
“I am never leaving this house,” she says. “I am staying here until they carry my body out.”
Odd Mom Out airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on Bravo.
