Inside Jesse Metcalfe and Cara Santana's Cozy California Home

We all have our strengths. And for Desperate Housewives alum Jesse Metcalfe’s fiancé, Cara Santana, it’s pillows.

“She really shines in the pillow department!” Metcalfe, 38, tells Architectural Digest.

The proof of Santana’s very particular set of skills can be found on the couch in the couple’s West Hollywood home, where the actress, 32 — who appears alongside Drew Barrymore in the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet — has piled high her favorite accessory. The cozy landing spot, however, is only one of the room’s standouts.

“It gets amazing light and has great flow,” Metcalfe says. “It’s also where I play the majority of my music.”

For Metcalfe, music is an important aspect of both his career and his home’s design. His current show, the Hallmark channel’s Chesapeake Shores, often features his musical contributions, composed on his antique Steinway piano and an array of guitars. Artwork throughout the house also pay tribute to his passion project.

Santana has a side gig of her own, the Glam App, which she describes as Uber for basic beauty treatments. “Creativity is something that’s important to both of us,” she says.

Although the two are in agreement there, the actors weren’t always on the same page about their decorating style.

“I was way over on the other end of the spectrum — everything was dark and heavy — and Cara was very light and airy and clean and a little minimalist,” Metcalfe says, adding, “We landed somewhere in the middle. Both our tastes have evolved.”
