Panettiere entrusted interior designer Benjamin Vandiver with many of the decor choices. The glamorous dining room was inspired by her love of the sea, and features a dramatic ocean photograph and a spikey light fixture, which the actress tells PEOPLE looks, "kind of like a sea urchin."

Vandiver, who also decorated Panettiere's former Nashville costar Connie Britton's house nearby, says he "scoured vintage stores and antique malls across the South for months" to find unique pieces, including the collection of National Geographic magazines from the '60s and '70s on display in the airy living room.

A gift from the Nashville cast and crew, this mini-director’s chair was made for Panettiere’s daughter Kaya. "I will always remember this house because it's where I first raised my daughter," she says. "And that's a really cool feeling."
