The Goop founder visited France's Cote d'Azur with ex Chris Martin and Spain, where she spent time as a teen
Gwyneth Paltrow has conquered one of her greatest fears . . . vacation.
The Goop founder just completed a two-week tour around France and Spain that included some work — speaking on a panel in Cannes — and some play — chilling on a yacht with ex-husband Chris Martin. To most, the jaunt looks like a dream trip, but the Los Angeles–based mom of two revealed in an Instagram post on Sunday, it was actually a personal challenge for the self-described homebody.
“Two week trip complete,” she wrote, adding “#victorydanceofahomebody.”
During her trip, Paltrow spent time in Cannes, St. Tropez, and Villefranche-sur-Mer on France’s southern Côte d’Azur, hanging out on a yacht with Martin, from whom she consciously uncoupled in 2014, and their son Moses, 11.
The actress lounged on deck first in a floral printed jumpsuit, and later in a white dress. Martin spent most of the day in his bathing suit, climbing an inflatable slide in the ocean and playing with toy hoses with his son.
After saying “au revoir” to France, Paltrow visited Castilla La Mancha in central Spain (the windmill-dotted landscape was the setting of Don Quixote), and Conil de la Frontera, a beach town on the country’s Atlantic coast. Paltrow, who speaks Spanish, lived with a family in Spain as a teenager and has said she considers the country a second home.

The super-sized vacation is unusual for Paltrow, who told the New York Times she travels several times a month for work and pleasure, but her trips are mostly “short ones.”
With a house in Los Angeles, a new getaway in Montecito, a loft in New York City (recently for listed for $9.95 million, it sold for $10.7 million in June according to StreetEasy), and a beach house in The Hamptons, it’s understandable why the star wouldn’t mind hanging at home.
