The Fixer Upper star's four kids are showing support for their Dad in the most adorable way
Chip Gaines’s children are rooting for him!
The Fixer Upper star revealed in January that his 2018 goals included completing a marathon, and he’s since been hard at work training for the event that will be held at his and wife Joanna’s Magnolia Market in May. On Sunday, the HGTV jokester took to Instagram to show how his four kids are supporting his fitness dreams.
“My maiden run at the #siloDistrictMarathon has become a family affair,” he captioned of a photo of a healthy snack surrounded by notes from Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 8, and Emmie Kay, 7 (the couple also recently announced that they are expecting a fifth child). “7.2 mile long run in the books! I got teary eyed this AM when I saw this. But at mile 5 it was the only thing I could think of.”
“Go get ‘em on your seven mile run!” read Drake’s note, while Ella cheered her dad on with a lengthier sentiment. “I love you so much and I hope this run feels amazing! You got this!” Although youngster Emmie Kay’s letter isn’t quite clear enough to see, Duke’s adorable words of wisdom included, “We love you Dad! I hope you do awesome run today.”
Apples, peanut butter, Emergen-C and a smiling banana face comprise Gaines’s pre-run meal. While he seems to be getting in the swing of things now, his exercise journey didn’t start out quite that easy.

“Man.. I wish I could sugarcoat this but the last 2 runs have been tough,” he said on social media. “Yesterday was seemly up hill and it kicked my butt.”
But help from the Gaines crew, and his coach, long-distance runner Gabriele (Gabe) Grunewald, keeps the famous contractor on track.
“It’s simple: 1 foot in front of the other,” he writes. “You don’t lose unless you quit.”
