Step Inside Elisabeth Röhm's Colorful Beach Bungalow
Whimsical Beach House
“Nothing matches and everything feels whimsical and sort of offbeat,” Elisabeth Röhm tells PEOPLE of her 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom bungalow in Venice, California. “It’s just very casual, very relaxed, and just very bright and happy. I thought that that would be a happy environment, to be surrounded by so much color.”
Pops of Color
"The living room is my favorite room in the house, definitely," says the Joy star, 42, who shares her home with her 8-year-old daughter Easton. "I think the couch is luxurious, but kids actually jump up and down on it. There isn't a sense of preciousness."
Röhm's living room display includes several Buddhas, her Screen Actors Guild Award for American Hustle, and numerous crystals. "Throughout the house are a lot of crystals, and those are very, very much a part of the house because of my daughter who loves crystals and magic," she says.
"This was a very simple, not very interesting space when we got it, and then we turned it into a little slice of heaven," says Röhm. "It's very peaceful and tranquil."
Put That Record On
Röhm was gifted the record player in her bedroom from director David O. Russell when they wrapped Joy. "He loves music, as you can tell from every one of his movies – they're completely full and alive with music," she says. "And he said, 'Kid you need a record player!' He's educated me on a love of vinyl."
"A lot of the details in this room are Indian-inspired or from Cambodia and Thailand, [including] different Buddhas from different places in the world," says Röhm.
