Drew Scott's Older Brother J.D. Fights Back Tears in Post-'DWTS' Message to Drew and Emma

"That freestyle, in my mind, was one of the best dances of the entire season," says J.D.

Drew and Jonathan Scott’s older brother J.D. is heartbroken about his sibling’s DWTS elimination.

The third Property Brother, who regularly makes cameos in the twins’ various HGTV series, has been supporting Drew in the ballroom throughout his run on Dancing with the Stars, which ended with his elimination Monday night. J.D. took to Instagram to share an emotional message for his little brother and partner, Emma Slater.

“As many of you probably know by now, Drew did not make it to the final tomorrow on Dancing with the Stars, ” J.D. says with teary eyes in a confessional-style video. “But it’s been a long journey. We’ve been out here I think 11 weeks in a row, and we’re just so proud of everything you’ve accomplished, Drew and Emma.”

Despite Drew taking his final bow in the ballroom, J.D. is still championing his brother’s performance. “It was amazing tonight to see your dances,” he says. “That freestyle, in my mind, was one of the best dances of the entire season.”

J.D., who will be co-best men with brother Jonathan at Drew’s upcoming wedding, admits he found the defeat heartbreaking and had to delay recording his message to pull himself together. “I thought I would wait a little while after the show to let the emotions cool down but obviously wasn’t enough,” he writes in a caption to the video. “As far as I am concerned, you both won our hearts this season. With all my love for your inspiring run at the Mirror Ball. #TeamHotProperty always. My sincere wishes of luck to all the remaining contestants. #ProudBrother.”

Drew, who had been training for the show while filming his new HGTV series, Drew’s Honeymoon House, which premieres Wednesday, was gracious in his defeat.

“Honestly, just to be in the final four means everything,” Drew told reporters after the show.

“I honestly didn’t think that I would make it here, and it’s all because of this gal right here,” he said, referencing his pro partner Emma Slater. “I couldn’t thank her enough!”
