Drew Scott is getting married! And his HGTV family (and his actual family) have plenty of sweet messages of congratulations for the Property Brothers star.
PEOPLE exclusively announced that the TV realtor, 38, proposed to longtime girlfriend and Scott Brothers Entertainment Creative Director Linda Phan, 31, on Tuesday night at Piano Piano restaurant in Toronto, in an elaborate orchestration that involved a massive Dr. Seuss–themed cake and an original recording of Train’s “Marry Me” played at the big moment.
Spoiler alert: She said yes!
Among those offering good wishes to the couple was fellow HGTV star Fixer Upper’s Chip Gaines, who tweeted on behalf of he and wife and costar, Joanna Gaines, “Congratulations @MrDrewScott! What an exciting time. @JoannaGaines and I are wishing nothing but the very best for you and Linda.”
Income Property host and former PEOPLE Sexy Man of the Week honoree, Scott McGillivray, even cheekily declared Drew his “second favourite Scott brother,” in a congratulatory tweet. “Welcome to the club! It’s awesome,” the married star continued, adding a champagne bottle emoji.
Drew’s older brother, J.D. admitted he’d been in on the proposal plans all along. “Here’s why I’ve been a little quiet since yesterday,” he writes, “Snuck off to Toronto to surprise Linda.” Drew told PEOPLE he, “had to be as stealthy as a ninja” to pull off the big surprise and didn’t allow any of the planning to take place online, for fear his fiancé might come across it accidentally.
Of course, HGTV’s official Twitter account shared the update with its nearly 1 million followers in a tweet that reads, “Did you hear the good news?! Drew and Linda are engaged!”
Drew’s twin brother Jonathan has surprisingly not posted his own message of congratulations on social media, though he did retweet @People’s announcement of the news. Jonathan was also present at Tuesday night’s surprise post-dinner engagement party with his girlfriend, Jacinta, to share in the celebration and offer congrats in person.
