The actress shares her home must-haves
How does Drew Barrymore do it?
Although acting is her main gig, Barrymore has amped up her busy schedule in recent years, adding skills like director, producer, entrepreneur and mom to her resume.
“I love learning new things and figuring out the details,” Barrymore, 41, told Elle Decor in the July/August issue.
But when she’s not launching a line of makeup, sunglasses or boutique wines, the actress can be found making the most of her downtime with a few DIY projects or some vintage furniture shopping.
“I’m always tinkering. It keeps things interesting,” Barrymore said.

Just like the rest of us, though, Barrymore — mom to daughters, Olive, 3, and Frankie, 2, — has a few things she needs to get her through the day. From vacation spots to baskets that keep her kids’ toys stylishly concealed, here are six of Barrymore’s must-haves for making life a breeze — or finding a tropical breeze:
Kauai: “There’s no place like it. This island still feels hippieish and underdeveloped.”
Pat McGann Gallery: “If you love ethnic textiles, it’s impossible to leave this shop without buying something.”
Farrow & Ball Sample Pots: “The pigments are perfect for creating that look of faded elegance. And the little pots make it easy to experiment.”
Grand Hotel A Villa Feltrinelli: “Each room in this historic hotel on Italy’s Lake Garda is different and dreamy in it’s own way.”
Serena & Lily Baskets: “The chicest way to store your kids’ toys.”
ABC Carpet & Home Outlet: “This home-furnishings warehouse in the Bronx has great deals. I found the coolest crocheted couch there.”
BRB, jetting off to Hawaii.
