The holidays are upon us, which means lots of family, friends and an overwhelming amount of holiday cards stuffed in your mailbox.
And while your loved ones’ seasons greetings are always appreciated, it’s hard to decide what to do with the well-wishes once you’ve opened the envelope. Do you toss them or let them pile up on your counter until spring?
The answer? Neither! There’s a smarter (and prettier) way to display your festive snail mail — a DIY display that takes almost no time and doubles as an adorable holiday decoration.

This beaded garland from Minted requires a little string, some wood beads and a few clothespins to come together. Start by threading the beads onto string, leaving about two feet extra on each end so you can slide the beads easily up and down the length of the string. Next, simply situate your holiday cards in between clusters of beads and attach using the clothespins. Drape your garland across a mantel, doorway or a blank wall for a holly-jolly finished product.
Consider clipping evergreen sprigs or other colorful accents in-between beads for an extra wintry feel. Because there’s a notable lack of red and green in this project, after the holidays you can simply swap out the cards for art or family photos after the holidays for a home décor staple that works year-round.
