Christina and Ant Anstead are celebrating one year of wedded bliss — and they are still in love as the day they first met.

On Sunday, the couple marked the one year anniversary of them tying the knot in a surprise wedding ceremony at their home in Newport Beach, California. After a whirlwind romance, the wedding came a little over a year after they first started dating.

“1 year ago today! I still get emotional watching this! What a year it’s been. I was 2 weeks pregnant with baby Hudson here and had no idea – ?. @ant_anstead I love you, our blended family and this life with you,” Christina captioned their wedding video on Instagram.

“Holy smokes!!!! A year ago! And What a year! ?? We have done enough for several life times! I am blessed, I am lucky, I am loved, I am full, I am happy, I am yours. You saved me and you complete me!!!! ??❤️???? you are PERFECT!!! My wife! ? x,” Ant wrote along with a series of highlights from their wedding day.

The HGTV star and the Wheeler Dealers host began dating in October 2017. “Two weeks after our first date, I was at a hockey game with my dad and I told him, ‘I’m going to marry Ant,’” Christina told PEOPLE. “When you know, you know.”

On their wedding day, the couple wanted to make sure their blended family was incorporated in the ceremony.

Christina shares son Brayden James, 4, and daughter Taylor Reese, 9, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and Ant is a father to son Archie, 13, and daughter Amelie, 16, with his ex Louise. Each child had their own special role to play in the December nuptials.

“It’s the six of us,” Ant told PEOPLE at the time. “So it was really important for them to be a part of it.” Taylor was the flower girl, Archie was the ring bearer, and Amelie walked with Brayden down the aisle.

The couple also couldn’t say “I do” without their French bulldog, Cash, who wore a custom tuxedo for his walk down the aisle.

In order to keep their hush-hush wedding a secret, the couple invited 70 of their friends and family members over to their house, telling them they were going to watch a boat parade.

But when the guests arrived, they saw rows of white chairs neatly arranged in the front yard, rose petals leading to an elegant floral arch, and an elegant tent in the backyard with a table for a steak dinner.

Ant, slipped into place next to the pastor, cheekily quipped “Got ya!” to the crowd. Once Christina made her way down the aisle and joined her husband-to-be, she exclaimed, “Surprise! We’re getting married!”

While walking down the aisle to the song “Stand By Me,” Christina carried a bouquet of pale pink and white peonies to compliment her wedding look.

Her Ines Di Santo dress featured a low back with buttons and detachable sleeves. She paired the mermaid-style gown, which she calls “classic and beautiful,” with Sergio Rossi crystal puzzle heels. The couple’s rings were designed by Randall Scott Fine Jewelry, with her emerald-cut eternity band totaling 8.5 carats.

The pair welcomed their first child together, a son named Hudson London, on September 6, 2019.

“It’s so amazing that we get to raise a child together,” Christina told PEOPLE over the summer, prior to Hudson’s arrival. “All of the kids are so excited. I love all the fun chaos and a full house. I always thought I would only have two, and now I’ll have five!”

In October, Ant told PEOPLE that he and his wife fall more and more in love with each other each day, despite their life in the spotlight. Between a new baby, a mixed family and their own TV shows, Ant said the two also share a very busy schedule — a lifestyle that has only deepened their bond.

“The great thing about being married to somebody like Christina is that we both are on the same page,” Ant said. “We’re both energetic, we’re both busy, we’re both 100 miles an hour. And we both believe that you have to put time aside for each other. There’s a synchronicity there that works.”

When they’re not working, the couple loves binge-watching TV together (they finished the entire Game of Thrones series together in eight weeks) and just hanging out.

“We make sure that outside of work we absolutely spend as much time as possible together,” Ant said. “We eat together, we talk an awful lot. When you just love someone’s company it doesn’t matter what you’re doing.”

“We don’t have to fill the gaps,” he added. “I’m just happy being with her.”
