Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrated New Year’s Eve with many of their loved ones!

To ring in 2020, the couple enjoyed what seemed to be an adults-only evening at a restaurant beside 14 of their closest friends.

The large group was captured in a photo on Joanna’s Instagram Stories sitting around a large and festively decorated table with candles and floral centerpieces. The room also featured a massive flower painting on the wall and a gorgeous chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

Later in the night, Joanna, 41, and Chip, 45, whose five kids did not appear in any of the photos from the festivities, played a card game, enjoyed a delicious chocolate dessert, and even posed for a silly photo together, wearing their glittery Happy New Year glasses, mini hats and noisemakers.

Surprisingly enough, there was no sign of the pair’s five children — daughters Emmie Kay, 9, and Ella Rose, 12, and sons Duke, 10, Drake, 14, and Crew, 16 months — whom they’ve been spending lots of time with over the holidays.

The family’s Christmas week included “microwaved nachos, sleeping bags, and sibling fireside chats,” according to a sweet Instagram post from Joanna showing two of the HGTV stars’ five children sharing a snack in front of the glowing Christmas tree.

Early last month, the Fixer Upper stars and their brood picked out a massive evergreen to bring home for the holidays.

Joanna shared on Instagram that her husband had chosen a tree so large that it required assistance from some heavy-duty equipment to get it on top of their car to take home.

“Chip picked this 12ft beauty that required a little help from ol’ John Deere … ” Joanna wrote alongside a video of Chip and a few other men working together at The Robinson Family Farm in Temple, Texas to get the tree secured atop their vehicle with the tractor.

A snapshot posted immediately afterward by Joanna showed Chip standing proudly in front of their car, his arms stretched out wide and a smile on his face after successfully securing the massive Fraser Fir.

“I guess I can do without a dining table for a month,” Joanna joked in her text on the photo, adding an emoji of a monkey covering its eyes. The tree needed to be secured to the wall in three places to stay upright in the family’s farmhouse.

The Gaines’ lives won’t stay quiet for long, however.

The home renovation duo are gearing up to launch their own TV network in October 2020, and have already announced the first show in production. The channel will take over Discovery’s DIY Network, currently in more than 52 million U.S. homes.

The new network will be the latest addition to Chip and Joanna’s massive list of successful businesses, including their lifestyle magazine The Magnolia Journal (which is published by Meredith, PEOPLE’s parent company), the new Magnolia Table restaurant and coffee shop, and their product line at Target, as well as the ever-expanding Magnolia Market at the Silos, which has turned Waco into a tourist destination.

Earlier this month, the couple also shared that they’ll be opening a hotel in the Texas town in 2021.
