There’s a new broker on the block!
Steve Gold of luxury Manhattan real estate agency Town Residential is joining the Million Dollar Listing New York crew for season six, following Luis D. Ortiz’ departure from the show last year.
Although Ortiz’ sunny personality and #BFFgoals with castmate, Fredrik Eklund, will be missed, Gold’s high-fashion past and serious success as a broker will surely be enough to keep MDLNY fans intrigued. Here are five things we know for sure about the high-stakes salesman:
1. He got his start in the fashion industry.
Gold took a modeling job straight out of high school, according to The Real Deal, and continued in the industry for five years, working with labels like Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren and Georgio Armani, until leaving the industry in favor of a job at brokerage firm Brown Harris Stevens.
2. He calls NYC home, but was raised in Connecticut.
Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Gold grew up sailing with his father on their boat, Turning Point. He remains an avid sportsman, enjoying hockey, tennis, skiing and surfing when he’s not busy closing a deal.
3. He’s already pals with Fredrik Eklund.
“10 years flies by!” Gold wrote on this Instagram post of him with the MDLNY vet in February. “Congrats to my fellow brokers @fredrikeklundny and @johngomes for putting up with each other for so long.”

4. His luxury listings aren’t the only thing on the market.
Fans will also see Gold looking for love this season, but struggling to make time to settle down with his busy work life. He’s focused on his annual goal of selling “$200 million,” according to the season’s trailer. “I’d like to find someone that I could spend the rest of my life with,” he says in the teaser clip. “It’s just hard to find in the city.”
5. He’s a dog person.
Gold often posts photos on Instagram with his dog, Pablo, who he rescued from a kill shelter in Georgia. He even occasionally brings the lucky pup with him to work. “Tuesday office vibez,” he captions this sweet photo.
