Whether you hate them or love them, burpees are an incredibly effective workout move — to celebrate, Reebok has launched the first-ever World Burpee Day on October 12.

As part of the inaugural celebration, the brand has created a 24-hour video of people around the world doing burpees. The user-submitted video montage features over 66,000 burpees done in a variety of creative ways, from doing a burpee off a diving board to synchronized burpee dancing.

According to Reebok, burpees burn up to 50 percent more fat than lower intensity workouts, and every burpee works your arms, chest, quads, glutes, hamstrings and abs.

You can burn 10 calories per minute of doing burpees, and doing just eight minutes of burpees is as calorie-burning as walking an entire 5K.

So while they may not be the most fun thing to do, they definitely are worth the effort!
