TV's Botched Plastic Surgeons Reveal the Most Requested Celebrity Body Part
As the current season of Botched gets underway, the show’s plastic surgeons Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow open up to PEOPLE about their friendship – and the most commonly requested celebrity body part.
PEOPLE: You see really odd plastic surgery cases on Botched. What does it take to shock you at this point?
Dubrow: I was in the locker room the other day and Dr. Nassif took off his shirt!
Nassif: He was amazed at my muscles.
Dubrow: The back hair, the man boobs. Oh my God.
Nassif: As the show progresses, Dr. Dubrow and I are experiencing new, miraculous, unusual things that never cease to amaze us. Every patient we get is more difficult. We get shocked, surprised and puzzled every week.
PEOPLE: You have a great rapport. What are the benefits of working together?
Nassif: We’ve been friends for 16 years, so there’s a history. We each knew each other before we got married.
Dubrow: We’ve never been married to each other.
Nassif: Terry has been teasing me for many years. I let him! It goes in one ear and out the other – I kind of ignore it. And when it comes to working together: we’re friends, we like each other, we’re like brothers and we’re both talented surgically. That’s symbiotic in some of these cases where we’re bouncing things off each other to see what we can do to get the best possible results.
PEOPLE: What’s the most often requested celebrity body part?
Dubrow: Right now, it’s Kylie Jenner’s lips. She really started a trend. It’s amazing that someone so young could be so influential in this area.
PEOPLE: She’s admitted having lip fillers, would you recommend that for someone her age?
Nassif: We’ve said numerous times on the show that we do not recommend this. Everyone is different, but if someone is asking us to recommend it for their 18-year-old daughter, Terry and I are always going to say no – unless there is a situation or a patient was born with an issue that we need to fix. But our answer in general is, ‘No, it’s too young.’ No disrespect to Kylie because we think she’s beautiful and the lips are beautiful, but in our personal opinion we suggest waiting.

PEOPLE: What is the strangest request you’ve received?
Nassif: A patient wanted to have their nose, which looked normal and natural, reduced to actually look like Michael Jackson’s nose. Basically they wanted to remove all the cartilage to reduce the nostrils so you can’t even breathe out of them. Pretty much destroy the nose. Obviously I said no.
PEOPLE: You fix so much bad plastic surgery. What type of surgery is most likely to go wrong?
Dubrow: It’s the one that, statistically, has the greatest numbers. Breast augmentation is the one that goes bad most commonly because it’s the No. 1 plastic surgery in the U.S. Also when you put in a foreign body, scar tissue can form even years later.
