But a hidden secret of the show is that the guys don’t actually have access to a gym while they film. “Working out was kind of difficult on the show,” Shawn Booth, 30, the winner of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, tells Men’s Health in a new video. “They don’t allow any equipment; they don’t have any weight rooms.” Instead Booth and his co-contestant Ben Zorn would run group workouts for the guys. “There were a few personal trainers on my season, and we usually led some group workouts in the backyard,” Booth says. “We brought TRX bands and some resistance bands, and somebody actually brought a set of dumbbells.” Joel Arbaje Now that his time on the show is over, Booth picked up his personal training business again in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. His newfound fame has helped the business, but it does make it more complicated. “That’s been kind of like a blessing and a curse,” he says. “Trying to take on clients is difficult because a lot of people will reach out and just want to train with me once or twice and take a selfie, just so they can say they worked out with the guy on The Bachelorette.” RELATED VIDEO: Are Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth Heading to Vegas to Wed? And back at home with Bristowe, Booth is settling into coupledom, and recently started experimenting with his diet. “I’ve been vegan for about a month and a half now,” he says “… Plant-based is something I’ve kind of been flirting with over the past year. I never thought in a million years that I would give up meat … But it’s all about doing what feels best for your body. And it’s actually kind of fun and exciting to me, because it’s opened my eyes to a lot of different foods out there that I never tried before.” He’s also looking forward to an exciting 2018, both with his business and with Bristowe. “There’s a lot of things that Kaitlyn and I are going to be doing as well that we will be announcing soon, so 2018 is going to be a big year for us,” Booth hints.
