Oprah Winfrey Looks Slimmer Than Ever, Says She's Sticking With 10,000 Steps a Day
“Actually, I left my little counter at home this week, so I had to, like, probably make up how many steps I was doing!” Winfrey told PEOPLE at the West Hollywood premiere of her new scripted series. “But I try to do something every day that allows me to feel active, and I don’t make myself crazy about it.”
“I just know that movement and flexibility, particularly the older you get, is what makes you feel alive,” she added. “So I don’t want to just be alive, I want to feel it.”
The 62-year-old TV icon and lifestyle guru is embracing exercise again as a spokesperson and stake holder of Weight Watchers. After just five months on the program, Winfrey announced that she’s dropped 26 lbs., and she’s still going strong.

But even with her renewed approach to diet and exercise, she’s not afraid to leave a little room for delicious treats.
After the screening, Winfrey hosted an upscale outdoor soiree with Southern favorites like blackened catfish, barbecue chicken, fried chicken, ribs, mac ‘n’ cheese, corn on the cob and mini apple pies.
The guests – including the show’s cast and pals like Winfrey’s Selma costar David Oyelowo and Niecy Nash – noshed and sipped on drinks like vodka-spiked watermelon lemonade.
But Winfrey had her eye on a different indulgence: tequila shots, which she called “my favorite way to celebrate anything!” Glass in hand, she toasted the series’ creator Craig Wright, who was also celebrating his birthday, with a Madea-sounding “Hallelu-yer.”
“All right – let’s have another one!,” she said afterward.
