How far would you go to relieve painful menstrual cramps?
A cannabis-based vaginal suppository, Foria Relief, is now on the market claiming to get rid of period cramps.
“Foria Relief has been carefully crafted using a delivery system intended to maximize the muscle relaxing and pain relieving properties of cannabis without inducing a psychotropic ‘high,’ ” explains the website. “Cannabis has a long, cross cultural history of use as a natural aide in easing symptoms associated with menstruation.”
“Our intention is to share the powerful medicinal properties of this plant while utilizing modern extraction techniques to standardize purity and potency, thereby ensuring a safe and accessible experience for all women,” it continues.
Foria Relief – which is not FDA-approved and only available in California and Colorado – is made of only three ingredients: organic cocoa butter, CO2 distilled THC oil and CBD Isolate.
“Foria Relief contains both THC and CBD, the two key active cannabinoid compounds found in cannabis,” says the site. “Together they activate certain cannabinoid receptors in the pelvic region when introduced into the body via these specially formulated suppositories.”
If you can get past the unconventional formula (and where it must go to be effective), this just might be a solution to one of the most unpleasant side effects of menstruation.
