Katrina Buldoc completed her first triathlon after giving birth to her son, and as soon as she crossed the finish line she was right back to mommy duty.

“First triathlon back postpartum, and as soon as I finished my little 7-month-old needed to eat,” Buldoc, 28, posted on the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page on July 24. “Got my medal and fed my baby like a champ!”

The San Luis Obispo, California-based yoga instructor was ready for people to respond negatively to her public breastfeeding, but fortunately everyone at the 2016 SLO Triathlon seemed to be accepting of her maternal display.

“I dared anyone to test me here, but no one even cared, and even commented as I fed him ‘congrats,’ ” she said. “This is a special day in the books for me!”

Buldoc’s Facebook post has over 5,300 “likes,” and many commenters responded by sharing their own photos of breastfeeding after competing in athletic events.

“Congratulations on finishing your triathlon and awesome breastfeeding,” commented Katie Howard-Davis, along with a photo of herself breastfeeding her son. “When my first son was 5 months old, I competed in a judo competition. It took forever, and he was so ready to breastfeed the second I got off the mat. I even had to breastfeed him up on the medal stand!”

“Here I am nursing my 19-month-old after finishing a 50km ultra marathon,” commented Stacey LeBlanc, who also shared a breastfeeding photo. “Mommas can be strong, accomplish amazing feats, and still nourish their babies!”
