1. Stretch Every Morning

2. Schedule Some Daily Downtime
Blocking out “me time” will make you feel “centered and grounded” says the actress. “I love to knit. My mom [Goldie Hawn] taught me when I was young, and it’s still my go-to relaxation method.”
3. Start Off Slowly
Hudson suggests beginners pick one exercise and commit to doing it three times a week. “That’s it!”
4. You Don’t Need to Leave the House to Work Out
The actress does DVDs like Insanity or Tracy Anderson or streams Ballet Beautiful routines. “Exercise really comes down to moving in a way that makes you feel good,” she writes.
Hudson insists the key to success is all about embracing a lifestyle that makes you look and feel good. “It’s about health and mindfulness,” she tells PEOPLE. “Because you can have the greatest body and you can be really unhappy if that’s all you’re working toward.”
