Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado became a U.S. citizen Friday, in time to vote against Republican nominee Donald Trump, who reportedly called her an “eating machine” after she gained 42 lbs. in the year after she won. “I [am] so proud and [inspired] to be a U.S. Citizen!” Machado, 39, who is originally from Venezuela, wrote on Instagram. “I’ll be Voting! All my power and my support [go to] my next President @hillaryclinton.” She ended the post with two nicknames that she says Trump used to call her. “Miss Housekeeping and Miss Piggy can vote @realdonaldtrump.” Machado took home the crown in 1996 at age 19, while Trump was a co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization. Just three months after earning the title, rumors about her weight started swirling, and Trump and pageant officials threatened to take away her crown unless she lost weight. Trump eventually hired a trainer for Machado to help her lose the weight before she would have to make appearances and crown the next winner in May 1997. “We want her to stay as Miss Universe,” Trump told PEOPLE in Feb. 1997, “and she is working on her problem.” “When you win a beauty pageant,” he continues, “people don’t think you’re going to go from 118 to 160 in less than a year, and you really have an obligation to stay in perfect physical shape.” RELATED VIDEO: WATCH: Celebs React to Donald Trump’s Cinco De Mayo Post In the days since earning her citizenship, Machado has already hit the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton in Florida. “I’m a mom, I’m a student, I’m an entrepreneur.
