When she was overweight, Sia Cooper started blogging about her fitness journey as a way to keep herself motivated. Now, with a following of 111k on Instagram, she encourages other women get in shape – especially other mothers.

“I love educating women on how they can get their best body ever even after having a baby,” Cooper, 27, tells PEOPLE. “There’s such a huge misconception that once you get pregnant, your body is wasted and that is false!”

Now a mom to a 2-year-old son and 32-weeks along with a baby girl, the Diary of a Fit Mommy blogger is still dedicated to staying fit.

“I have stuck with my pre-pregnancy routine during this entire pregnancy with just a few, minor changes,” says Cooper – who still has a six-pack even with her bump.

While pregnant women should always check with their doctors on what is right for them, Cooper shares her plan. “I work out five days per week for 60 minutes. Since I work from home, it can be a challenge finding ways to get some extra steps in, but I love taking my son out for stroller jogs and taking him to the park to play with him.”

Cooper says she has been eating a cleaner diet since finding out she was pregnant.

“I make sure I get enough lean proteins, vegetables and fruits in,” she says. “At 32-weeks pregnant, I have gained around 20 lbs. so far, but I know the bulk is about to start packing on, so I make it a point to eat even cleaner in these last few weeks. I do allow myself two cheat meals per week as well.”

Cooper says she has received backlash on her fit mommy posts, but tries not to let the negative comments faze her.

“When I first started blogging, they would bother me so badly and hurt my feelings,” she admits. “Nowadays, I do not even glance twice because it is honestly part of my business. The best way to deal with negative comments is to not reply and move on, but know that you are doing the very best that you can and are happy doing it.”

She hopes her posts can inspire other moms and moms-to-be to stay active and lead healthy lifestyles.

“The truth is that you do not need a gym membership or fancy gym equipment to get fit! Your body is the best tool that you’ve got to get into the best shape of your life,” she says.

Her busy mom workouts have included squatting while folding laundry, and using monkey bars for pull-ups while taking her son to the park.

“Being a mom sometimes means you need to improvise and get creative,” says Cooper. “You are what you limit yourself to.”
