"I feel very secure within myself," the supermodel said in a new interview By Jacqueline Andriakos Published on July 17, 2015 02:30 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: FameFlynet If there is a real fountain of youth out there, Elle Macpherson has found it. The 51-year-old supermodel, who may be the poster woman for aging gracefully (or not at all!), shares more of her top beauty tips and how it felt to reach that 5-0 birthday milestone last year in a new interview for the August issue of Redbook. “I feel very secure within myself – strong, happy and motivated. Hopefully I’ve gained some wisdom over the years,” Macpherson said in the magazine, out Tuesday. “And I have a sense of humor about my mistakes. I’ve accepted that I don’t always get it right, but it’s not the end of the world.” Let’s be honest, the blonde bombshell gets it right a lot. And her day-to-day routine plays a major part in her beauty upkeep both inside and out. “I exfoliate my face every day and my body twice a day – I shower in the morning and the evening,” she said. “I use a body brush, which boosts circulation, and I always moisturize afterward.” When it comes to makeup, the mom of two is a big fan of emphasizing her cheekbones. Said Macpherson, “If you can draw attention to them, it gives you a wide-eyed, youthful look without having to put on a lot of makeup.” She also talked about her famously toned physique (she’s appropriately nicknamed “The Body”), a product of staying active outdoors and doing sports like swimming, biking and hiking. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve increased my joy factor,” she said of her workouts. “Even if I’m in New York City or London, I’ll choose to walk rather than exercise in a gym.” Macpherson has been flaunting her figure yacht-side while cruising through Saint-Tropez waters in France in recent days, looking as svelte as ever in stylish swimwear. Instagramming along the way, she has been on a family holiday with her husband, Jeffrey Soffer, and two sons in Europe. But the star recently told PEOPLE, “I look after my body not just so it looks good or so I weigh a certain amount, but more so I am healthy, strong, energized and happy.” “That’s more important to me than the number on the scale,” she added. The co-founder and co-owner of the luxury wellness business WelleCo credits an alkalizing supplement from her company, a healthy diet, seven hours of sleep, 45 minutes of exercise, three liters of water and “a lot of laughter” with helping her feel at peace every day.
