Donald Trump Attacks Alicia Machado's Past and Hillary Clinton's Judgement in 3 A.M. Twitter Storm

Donald Trump continued to keep the Alicia Machado story alive in a series of tweets attacking the former Miss Universe and Hillary Clinton

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump continued to keep the Alicia Machado story alive on Friday, attacking the former Miss Universe‘s past and suggesting she had a sex tape – which has been proven untrue – in a series of early morning tweets.

His Twitter storm also dragged in Hillary Clinton, accusing the Democratic presidential nominee of pushing Machado to become an American citizen so she could use her for political gain.

During Monday night’s presidential debate, Clinton, 68, held up Trump’s past criticism of the former Miss Universe’s weight as proof of his sexism and disrespect toward women over the years. Trump had allegedly called the then-teenage girl “Miss Piggy,” “Miss Housekeeping” and an “Eating Machine” when she had put on weight after winning the crown in 1996.

“Wow, Crooked Hillary was duped and used by my worst Miss U.” Trump, 70, wrote. “Hillary floated her as an ‘angel’ without checking her past, which is terrible!”

“Using Alicia M in the debate as a paragon of virtue just shows that Crooked Hillary suffers from BAD JUDGEMENT!” he continued. “Hillary was set up by a con.”

He added: “Did Crooked Hillary help disgusting (check out sex tape and past) Alicia M become a U.S. citizen so she could use her in the debate?”

Trump’s “sex tape” claims appear to refer to an image from a 2005 clip of Machado, when she was a contestant on a Spanish language reality show. In the shot, she appears fully clothed on a bed with a male contestant. No other sex tape has been surfaced since.

His other comments about her “terrible” past reference a 1998 controversy, in which a judge in Venezuela accused Machado of threatening to kill him after he indicted her then-boyfriend for attempted murder. According to the AP, Machado was accused of driving the getaway car of then-boyfriend Juan Rafael Rodriguez Regetti – who was accused of shooting and wounding his sister’s husband who he blamed for his sister’s suicide.

Machado denied any involvement in the case and was never indicted for the getaway car allegations, due to lack of evidence.

“I have my past, of course,” Machado told Anderson Cooper on Thursday. “Everybody had a past. I’m not a saint girl, but that is not the point now.”

“That moment in Venezuela was wrong – was another speculation about my life,” she added, addressing the reports about her. “He can use whatever he wants to use. The point is, [the weight-shaming] happened, 20 years ago.”
