Lifestyle Health Blogger and Fit Mom of 2 Amber Fillerup Clark Breaks Down How She Tones Her Incredible Abs Amber Fillerup Clark works out five days a week to stay in shape By Gabrielle Olya Published on February 13, 2017 11:49 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Courtesy Amber Fillerup Clark Amber Fillerup Clark, aka the Barefoot Blonde, has wowed her followers with her incredible six-pack — after having two kids! To initially lose the baby weight, Fillerup Clark, 26, tells PEOPLE she used a personal trainer, but now swears by Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide to stay in shape. “Having a personal trainer for three months helped me lose all my baby weight and toned me up and prepped my body,” she says. “Now that I’m doing BBG, I feel like I’m at a point where I’m fit, and I don’t totally struggle throughout the workouts.” The blogger does Itsines’ workouts Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and on Tuesday and Thursday does a mix of cardio and ab exercises. Her typical cardio routine is a HIIIT treadmill workout, and she follows that with 300 reps of ab exercises, including lower-body crunches, regular crunches, bicycles and medicine ball side twists. “I try to do variations,” says Fillerup Clark. “I have 15 go-to ab exercises, and I usually pick five and do 50 to 100 of each.” She also mixes in lots of squats, and sometimes records Khloé Kardashian‘s Snapchat workouts to recreate on her own. And having two young kids — Fillerup Clark’s son is 2½ and her daughter is 14 months — also helps keep her active. “With kids, I’m so busy during the day, whether it’s running around with them or playing at the beach,” she says. I eat a lot of soups, I eat acai bowls in the morning, I eat lots of fruit, and we love to have healthy snacks around the house because we’re big snackers.” The Hawaii-based blogger says she’s reached a point where she’s confident about her body — despite any negative comments she gets on her posts. “It’s hard because you can’t win,” she says. “I’ll get comments that say my hips are too big, and then on the same photo someone will say I’m too skinny. I just want to look back and know no matter what phase, whether I just had a baby and I have 30 lbs. of baby weight to lose, I want to look back and know that I was enjoying myself and my body at whatever stage it was. I’ve learned to be okay with my body, however it is, and if some people think it’s too skinny or too big, that’s fine — as long as I feel good about it.”
