Lifestyle Health See Plus-Size Model Ashley Graham Show Off Her Curves in Response to 'Beach Body' Ad The company Swimsuits For All shared its own version of the controversial beach body advertisement on Twitter By Jacqueline Andriakos Published on April 30, 2015 02:00 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Courtesy Swimsuitsforall For all of the critics of the beach body poster that has swept the web, there’s a new – more voluptuous – version out there. Swimsuits For All, a bathing suit retailer for curvy women, Tweeted an image Wednesday of plus-size model Ashley Graham, 27, posing in a black two-piece beside the tagline “Are you ready for this beach body?” and the company’s #CurvesInBikinis hashtag. (And check out that sizzling over-the-shoulder stare!) “Are you ready for this beach body? We are. All bodies are #BeachBodyReady,” the company wrote on Twitter. The image features the same text and color treatment as the controversial Protein World beach body signage in the United Kingdom, which has received backlash from body image crusaders. The Advertising Standards Authority ultimately banned the advertisement – which shows a slender model in a bikini next to the slogan “Are you beach body ready?” – across the U.K. on Wednesday. Graham is a major advocate of embracing curves and changing the way the media portrays body standards. She was the first plus-size model to be featured in an advertisement in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this year. She also posed for Lane Bryant’s #ImNoAngel movement, a seemingly anti-Victoria’s Secret campaign that featured lingerie models of all shapes and sizes.
