Her parents had multiple restaurants through the years, and her complicated relationship with food spawned from her binge-eating mom. Hodder, 29, spent most of her time alone playing video games and eating, unless her mom was home, in which case the two of them would binge eat together. Both of her parents were overweight, but while her dad tried to restrict Hodder’s food intake, her mom was more of an enabler. That all changed when her mom got weight loss surgery. Suddenly, Hodder felt abandoned in her binge eating, and after her parents got divorced, her weight hit 653 lbs. as she comforted herself with pizza and ice cream. Now Hodder knows she needs to make a change, and is going to see Dr. Younan Nowzaradan to get weight loss surgery just like her mom. In this exclusive clip from Wednesday’s episode of My 600-Lb. Life, Hodder travels to Houston for her appointment with the surgeon. “This has been a lot of activity for me, so I feel like we’re getting here and ending this trip just in time,” Hodder says as the van pulls up at their hotel. But as she’s getting out of the van, Hodder trips and falls. “I can move, my leg hurts so bad,” she tells her mom, and then refuses her help. “I can’t believe this happened. I’m in so much pain right now. I don’t think I can get up. And I don’t know what I’m going to do,” she says. My 600-Lb. Life airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. EST, 7 p.m. CST on TLC.
