DWAYNE 'THE ROCK' JOHNSON & LAUREN HASHIAN
At their intimate Hawaii wedding on Aug. 18, the actor and his longtime girlfriend served a three-tier cake decorated with white flowers and a rainbow piping design. “To carry out my #1 goal of complete privacy, no wedding planners or outside resources were hired. Everything you see was created by hand, by staff and family only,” Johnson wrote on an Instagram album with photos from their big day, including one of the gorgeous cake. “The end results were spectacular.”
VAL CHMERKOVSKIY & JENNA JOHNSON
The Dancing with the Stars couple cut into a gorgeous, five-tier cake created by Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica, California on their wedding day. In the middle of the confection — which incorporated three different flavors: milk chocolate hazelnut with Valrhona chocolate pearls and yellow butter cake (inspired by Chmerkovskiy’s love of Nutella), banana chocolate chip (Johnson’s favorite), and dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate buttercream, caramel and Maldon flaky sea salt — was a tier made up of hanging crystals to amp up the elegance.

The pair, who wed in an intimate ceremony on Dec. 23 in Franklin, Tennessee, had a simple cake with two tiers and classic white frosting (surrounded by rows of cupcakes, for good measure.)
NICK JONAS & PRIYANKA CHOPRA
The Quantico actress and singer, who celebrated their nuptials with both a Western and a Hindu wedding to honor both of their religions, surprised their guests with a massive, seven-tier dessert following their first ceremony at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India on Saturday. DREW SCOTT & LINDA PHAN
“It’s a really beautiful, elegant cake, but inside we have a bunch of secret treats that are spilling out of the cake,” the Property Brothers star tells PEOPLE of the dessert at his May 12 wedding in Italy. The four-tier creation featured a gold herringbone pattern similar to the design of the floor in the couple's home, and a cascade of biscuits with Scottish and Chinese symbols to serve as a "tribute to our heritage," says Scott.
ELENA DELLE DONNE & AMANDA CLIFTON
"When one of the brides is a WNBA star you need a tall cake!!" Betsy Thorleifson, the baker behind Nine Cakes in Brooklyn, wrote of the 11-tier dessert she created for Donne and the Olympian's big day. During the reception, which was put on by The Knot’s Dream Wedding franchise, the wedding cake standing at 6’5″ tall (the same height as Donne!) was wheeled onto the dance floor.
MARK BALLAS & BC JEAN
The Dancing with the Stars pro and his Alexander Jean bandmate tried 13 cakes before their Nov. 25 wedding. "The funny thing is we picked the first one we tried!" said Ballas of the celestial-themed seven-tier creation with layers of “pink velvet” and Neapolitan cake.
MICHAEL PHELPS & NICOLE JOHNSON

PATTON OSWALT & MEREDITH SALENGER
The comedian and his new bride had some helping (little) hands when it came to their decadent cake. “I have a sister who has two little girls who are 7 and 10, my best friend Nikka Costa has a little girl who’s 11, and my other best friend Ever Carradine has a little girl who’s 6, and it was really important for me to incorporate all the kids who mattered to me in my life, because I haven’t had my own children,” Salenger says. “I’ve been Auntie Mere to all of these children since the days they were born. Patton and I came up with the idea of just having a plain white wedding cake and having all the little girls decorate our cake. We got all different shades of pink candies and flowers, and we had the girls decorate it. Alice was super proud that she formed the candies into an M + P.”
TOM DALEY & DUSTIN LANCE BLACK
On the day of their May 6 nuptials in Devon, England, the British Olympic diver surprised Black with a five-tier, red, white and blue cake made by U.K. bakery Crumbs & Doilies. NOEL FISHER & LAYLA ALIZADA
The cake at the couple's backyard wedding was extra special to them because it was made by a loved one. The actress’s best friend put together the two-tier creation with an all-white frosting in a wavy design and decorated with fresh flowers and greenery. It may look simple on the outside but the Pitch Perfect co-star’s wedding cake by Crushcakes was made up of two layers of Rice Krispies treats, and three different cake flavors: salted caramel, carrot crush and lemon berry. Plus, the cascade of pastel flowers tied in perfectly with the rest of the dessert table outfitted by La Tavola Fine Linen Rental.
