Stuffing is a staple that’s absolutely crucial to any Thanksgiving meal. But, in our humble opinion, it’s always been missing one thing: cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. This 5-ingredient recipe remedies that glaring oversight. The cubes of sharp provolone melt into the dish, creating pockets of pure ooey, gooey bliss. Make Pumpkin Gnocchi from Scratch with Just 5 Ingredients Sausage & Provolone Stuffing Recipe 1 loaf country white bread, cubed12 oz. breakfast sausage, removed from casings if in links8 oz. provolone cheese, cubed3 ribs celery, stalks chopped and leafy green tops chopped and reserved2 cups chicken stock 1. Preheat the oven to 350°. On a large baking sheet, spread the bread cubes in an even layer and toast in the oven until dried out, about 10 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl. 2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned, 5 minutes, then add celery and saute until slightly softened, about 3 minutes. Let cool completely, then add the sausage mixture and cheese to the bread. 3. Add in cheese and chicken stock and stir until bread has just absorbed the liquid. Pour into a baking dish and transfer to oven until browned on top, about 40 minutes.
