Waiting in line is always awful — but it’s especially awful when you’re waiting to order your coffee at Starbucks, grumpy and uncaffeinated.
Well, you can now skip the line entirely, through the power of technology. The company’s new Mobile Order and Pay app lets you order your pumpkin spice latte (or whatever other kind of beverage) from your phone, then pick it up directly at the counter when you arrive.
In addition to placing orders, customers can also pay ahead and see their estimated wait time.
Starbucks launched the function in December 2014, but only in Portland, Oregon. Within a matter of months, the feature expanded to twenty more states and over 3,500 locations. Now, the feature is available nationally in over 7,400 coffee shops.
“Following successful launches in select U.S. cities, mobile ordering is emerging as the fastest and easiest way for Starbucks customers to order ahead, then pay and pick up their purchases – providing on-the-go customers a simple and quick alternative to get their favorite food or beverage item,” the official statement reads. “Starbucks plans to introduce this feature in select company owned stores in the UK and Canada in October.”
Next step? Starbucks delivery, please.
