Starbucks

Spring may not have officially arrived quite yet, but Starbucks is getting us in the spirit with their new seasonal beverage: the Cherry Blossom Frappuccino.

The pink frozen drink will be available for an extremely limited time: from March 15th to March 20th, which is the first day of spring. (So hurry — you only have a five day window.)

The frappuccino is inspired by the pink cherry blossoms — a symbol of spring — and the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino that’s available in the chain’s Japanese locations.

Despite its name and pink color, there are no actual cherry blossoms involved. The drink is a blend of strawberries and cream, striped with white chocolate sauce and matcha drizzle and topped with whipped cream and more matcha.

“In Japan, cherry blossoms (known as ‘sakura’ in Japanese) are the national flower and a symbol of renewal and simplicity, and Starbucks locations in Japan have offered a Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino and Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Latte since 2010,” a press release for the new drink reads. “This is the first time Starbucks is offering a Cherry Blossom Frappuccino in the U.S., inspired by this tradition.”

While we’re excited to taste it, we may even be more excited about all the beautiful spring-y Instagrams we’ll take holding it.
