Vegetable sides tend to get a bad rap around the holidays — who gets excited about greens when stuffing and mashed potatoes are around? But this recipe changes everything.

L.A. chef Brooke Williamson stopped by the PEOPLE Now test kitchen to share her recipe for easy-to-make Spicy Green Beans.

These kicked up veggies are guaranteed to be the star of your holiday menu. The green beans are first sautéed in smoking hot oil so they’re blistered a.k.a. colorful, crunchy and incredibly flavorful. Toss with whole grain mustard, spicy Chinese mustard, honey, crème fraîche, sherry vinegar and roasted almonds and voilà! You’ve got a perfect side dish.

Watch the video above to get the easy, step-by-step instruction from Williamson.
