This Valentine’s Day, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are treating their husbands to a Harlem-style meal.

In an exclusive clip from their new Awestruck Channel series Snooki & JWoww: Moms With Attitude (which airs Wednesdays on the mobile app go90), the Jersey Shore alums visit N.Y.C. hot spot Sweet Chick to learn how to cook chicken with chocolate-cherry waffles for their husbands. Fried food and carbs for V-Day? We can get on board with that.

Co-owner John Seymour walks them through the entire process and shares the restaurant’s secret ingredient for crispy skin. Because of her time on Worst Cooks in America, Farley is pretty comfortable in the kitchen and can explain some of the cooking vocabulary to Snooki, who spends most of the clip quite confused.

“The most important thing about frying chicken is creating a brine,” Seymour explains to the women.

the restaurant’s overnight brine includes bay leaves, water, a healthy dose of salt, and sage. At this stage, the chicken doesn’t look too appetizing (as Polizzi is quick to point out), but don’t worry, it gets better.

24 hours later, the chicken will be ready to be dredged in flour and cornstarch, which gives it a super crispy texture, then fried. (We’ve got a full version of Sweet Chick’s recipe here).

“Like a chicken cutlet,” Polizzi suggests. “I can make chicken cutlets.”

When it comes to the waffles, don’t skimp on the cherries and chocolate. “The more the merrier,” Seymour says. Let the waffles cook in the for about two and a half minutes, and voila, you have the perfect Valentine’s Day meal!

Want some mac ‘n’ cheese to top it all off? We’ve got Seymour’s recipe for that, too.
