Mario Batali may have just changed the game for those who wake up feeling not-too-hot after a night out.

“Basically if you get up and you exercise hard for 45 minutes and then shoot a beer, it’s gone,” Batali told PEOPLE of his best hangover cure at the (RED) Supper in New York City on Thursday night. “But you have to sweat out. Keep in mind, a hangover is the poison lying in dehydrated areas. You need to pump it out.”

“You just can’t stand next to an open flame when you do it,” he continues jokingly.

Batali also weighed in on the 2016 election – through food, of course. He described his ideal hamburger for each presidential hopeful left in the running.

“I would make the Donald a classic cheeseburger, because he seems like that kind of guy,” he says.

“For Hillary I would make a turkey burger, buffalo style. I know she likes tangy and spicy.” As for Vermont senator? “I would make Bernie a cheeseburger with Magic Mushrooms,” Batali says with a laugh.

During the month of June, Batali is serving as the global chef ambassador for the 2016 (RED) campaign, teaming up with other celebrity chefs like Anthony Bourdain and Nancy Silverton to raise money for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.
