EXCLUSIVE: Lay's New Mystery Potato Chip Flavors Are Revealed
Beginning on July 25, the four globally-minded new flavors will be available nationwide
Every time we think that Lay’s has run out of flavor ideas, we are proven horribly wrong.
Yesterday, per their annual tradition, the company unveiled four new mystery potato chips, which our editors tasted and tried to identify. Today, they shared the four flavors with PEOPLE — and we got one of them right! (Watch our live flavor reveal below. Spoiler: There was a clear favorite among our taste testers.)
The limited-time potato chip flavors, inspired by the Summer Olympics, are: Chinese Szechuan Chicken (inspired by Sichuan peppers), Brazilian Picanha (skewered-grilled steak with chimichurri sauce), Wavy Greek Tzatziki (flavored with dill, garlic and other spices) and Kettle Cooked Indian Tikka Masala (a tomato-based dish with tumeric and cumin).

“This summer, all eyes will be on the global stage, reminding us of our desire to travel and explore the world. While most of us can’t just hop on a plane, all of us can travel through our taste buds,” said Jeannie Cho, vice president of Frito-Lay marketing, in a statement. And to be quite honest, we love the idea of traveling by means of eating potato chips.
Beginning on July 25, the four globally-minded new flavors will be available nationwide. We recommend binging them all while watching the Olympics, though we’ll probably be stocking up mostly on the Greek Tzatziki chips … and dipping them in Greek Tzatziki.
