Kelly Ripa Celebrates Her Son’s 20th Birthday … at a Winery?
"I just wanted to show him a really great time," says the Live cohost
Kelly Ripa: Mom of the year!
While in Canada for two special episodes of Live, the co-host threw her eldest son Michael an epic 20th birthday party complete with a helicopter ride and a trip to a gorgeous winery.
“So 20 years ago, he, my son, my eldest came into my life and changed it for the better, for always,” Ripa, 46, said on Tuesday’s episode. “And America—and Canada—have seen him grow up right before their very eyes on this show over the years and I just wanted to show him a really great time.”

Not only do the two “get high together” during a ropes course to see Niagara Falls from new heights, but Ripa also allows Michael to have his first legal sip of wine at Two Sisters Vineyard since the drinking age in Canada is 18 or 19, depending on the location.
Michael and Ripa, who is also mom to Lola, 15, and Joaquin, 14, take a tour of the grounds before getting to taste Ripa’s favorite vino: rosé. “I always thought wine came from the box but apparently it does not, it comes from a grape,” she jokes.
They finish off her son’s big day with a surprise party filled familiar faces including her cohost, Ryan Seacrest. But even after all that fun, at the end of the day, Ripa is still just a mom. “I wish we had an eye roll count, he rolled his eyes so many times at me,” she laughed.
